→Trivia
- The film was originally titled 'Guddu Ki Aankhen' but was shortened to just 'Guddu' before release.
- This was one of the few films where actor Shah Rukh Khan played a character from a small town in Uttar Pradesh.
- The movie's music was composed by Naushad, a legendary composer known for his work in classic Hindi films decades earlier.
- Actress Manisha Koirala, who played Salina, had to portray a blind character and reportedly studied the mannerisms of visually impaired people.
- Despite starring popular stars, the film did not perform well at the box office upon its release.
- A key emotional scene involving the eye donation was filmed at a real hospital in Mumbai to add authenticity.
- The director, Prem Lalwani, was relatively new to the industry and this was one of his early major directorial projects.
