Trivia

  • The film's title 'Sauda' means 'deal' or 'bargain' in Hindi, hinting at the transactional misunderstandings in the marriage.
  • It was one of the few films from the mid-90s to feature actor Deepak Tijori in a leading romantic role, as he was more known for supporting or antagonistic parts.
  • The movie's music was composed by Bappi Lahiri, known for his disco hits, but here he created a more traditional romantic soundtrack.
  • Director Ramesh Modi primarily worked as a producer; this film was a rare directorial venture for him.
  • The film was not a major commercial success, releasing during a competitive period for romantic dramas in Bollywood.
  • A subplot involves a classic 'letter misunderstanding', a common trope in 1990s Hindi cinema to create marital conflict.
  • Actress Juhi Chawla was initially considered for the female lead, but the role ultimately went to a less familiar face of that era.
