Trivia

  • The film was originally titled 'Mamtaram' after the father character, but was changed to 'Aa Gale Lag Jaa' to sound more romantic.
  • It was one of the few films where actor Vikram Gokhale played a comedic, miserly role instead of his usual serious characters.
  • The movie's music was composed by the duo Nadeem-Shravan, who were at the peak of their popularity in the early 90s.
  • Actress Farheen, who played Roshni, was a former model and this was one of her few leading roles in Bollywood.
  • The film's climax was shot in the hill station of Mahabaleshwar, a popular location for romantic scenes in that era.
  • Despite the star music directors, the film's songs did not become major chartbusters like their other hits from that period.
  • The plot revolves around dowry, a social issue, but treats it primarily as a source of comedy rather than serious drama.
