Ek Doctor Ki Maut(1991)
Ek Doctor Ki Maut is a 1990 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Tapan Sinha. It stars Pankaj Kapur as Dr. Dipankar Roy, Shabana Azmi as his wife Seema, and Irrfan Khan in a supporting role. The story follows a junior doctor who discovers a vaccine for leprosy but faces harassment, jealousy, and bureaucratic negligence instead of recognition. The film is based on the 1982 story 'Abhimanyu' by Ramapada Chowdhury and is loosely inspired by the life of Dr. Subhash Mukhopadhyay. It won three National Film Awards including Best Direction and a Special Jury Award for Pankaj Kapur. The film was released in 1990 and is available through the National Film Development Corporation of India.

Storyline
Dr. Dipankar Roy discovers a vaccine for leprosy after years of secret research. His success brings fame but also enemies. Jealous colleagues and a cruel bureaucracy try to destroy his career. They steal his credit and transfer him to a remote village. Dr. Roy must decide whether to fight or give up.
