Mohenjo Daro is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language period action-adventure film directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. It stars Hrithik Roshan as Sarman and Pooja Hegde as Chaani, with Kabir Bedi and Arunoday Singh in supporting roles. Set in 2016 BCE during the Indus Valley civilisation, the story follows a farmer who travels to the city of Mohenjo-daro, falls in love, and challenges a tyrannical ruler. The film was produced by UTV Motion Pictures and The Walt Disney Company India. Gowariker spent three years researching with archaeologists to build the film's world. The score was composed by A. R. Rahman. The film received mixed reviews and grossed ₹107.8 crore worldwide. It was released on 12 August 2016.

Storyline

A brave farmer named Sarman travels from his village to the great city of Mohenjo-daro. He falls in love with Chaani, the daughter of a priest. But Chaani is forced to marry the cruel son of the city's evil ruler. Sarman must fight giant champions and expose a deadly conspiracy to save the woman he loves and his entire civilisation.
