Neethaane En Ponvasantham is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film co-written, co-produced, and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film stars Jiiva and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead roles, with Santhanam, Ravi Raghavendra, and Ravi Prakash in supporting roles. The story follows Varun and Nithya, childhood friends who repeatedly fall in and out of love across three stages of their lives — school, college, and adulthood. The film explores how ego, pride, and class differences can tear a couple apart. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja, and the cinematography was handled by M. S. Prabhu and S. R. Kathir. Samantha won the Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Actress for her performance. The film was released on 14 December 2012 and was simultaneously shot in Telugu as Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu.

Storyline
Varun and Nithya have been friends since childhood. They fall in love in school, break up, and reunite in college only to break up again. Years later, as adults, they meet once more and try to make their love work. But their egos and pride keep getting in the way. Can they finally overcome their differences and stay together?
