Trivia
- The film is a remake of the Hindi comedy 'Phas Gaye Re Obama', which itself was inspired by the 2008 global financial crisis.
- It was shot extensively in and around the historic city of Hyderabad, using real palace locations to add authenticity.
- Actor Sumanth Ashwin, known for romantic roles, took on this comedic thriller as a change from his usual genre.
- The title 'Sankarabharanam' is the name of a famous raga in Carnatic music, creating an ironic contrast with the film's modern, chaotic plot.
- Despite being a thriller, the director incorporated subtle satire about the real estate and kidnapping rackets in India.
- The film's release faced competition from bigger star vehicles, which affected its initial box office reach.
- It features a cameo by a popular Telugu comedian in a brief but memorable role as one of the kidnappers.
