Kaani Nilam(1987)
'Kaani Nilam' is a 1987 Indian Tamil-language political satire film directed by Arunmozhi. The film stars Cho Ramaswamy in the lead role. It follows a poor man's struggle to buy a small piece of land while fighting corrupt politicians. The film was originally titled 'Kani Nilam Vendum'. The Central Board of Film Certification initially refused to certify the film due to its negative portrayal of politicians. After three months of delay and 18 cuts, it received a U certificate. The film was released on 14 August 1987. It received mixed reviews from critics. Nandalala of The Indian Express called it a letdown. Jayamanmadhan of Kalki also gave a negative review. Despite this, the film was selected for screening at the Pan African Film Festival.

Storyline
A poor man dreams of owning a small piece of land. But every time he tries to buy it, corrupt politicians block him. He decides to fight back and expose their crimes. His childhood friend is the main villain. The system is against him, but he refuses to give up.
