Full Plot

The film starts with Revathy walking into the ocean. Then it flashes back 18 years to a slum in Chennai. Balaji's mother dies when he is young. His father Jyothi is a drunkard who leaves him on the streets. Balaji works hard and raises his younger brother Karthik. He does this with help from Revathy's father. Karthik studies engineering but spends most of his time with his friend Vishnu. Vishnu runs a mechanic shop that does not earn much money. Vishnu's guardian wants him to sell the shop and get a real job. But Vishnu refuses because the shop is the only memory of his late father. Revathy lives nearby and loves Karthik. The three are very close friends.

Jyothi returns to the slum and starts working for a drug peddler named Ammaji. He supplies call girls and drugs. Balaji does not want Karthik to have anything to do with their father. Jyothi notices that Vishnu is in love with Viji, a call girl. Vishnu also needs money for his failing shop. Jyothi offers Vishnu a deal — transport drugs to Pondicherry and he can have Viji. Vishnu agrees and takes Karthik with him. Viji hears that Jyothi is planning to sell the drugs to Ammaji's enemy. She tries to warn Vishnu through Jyothi's assistant.

Meanwhile, Revathy's father has a heart attack. He is desperate to reach Karthik and Vishnu. Balaji searches for Karthik for a week. He finally finds Karthik in a bakery and hits him. Karthik gets angry and leaves for Vishnu's house. He gives Revathy a phone and leaves the drugs in his cupboard. Vishnu cannot find the drugs in his bag. He fights with Karthik and hits him with a chair. Karthik faints. Vishnu's guardian arrives and kills Vishnu because he wanted to sell the shop. Viji dies from depression. The police arrest Karthik for Vishnu's murder.

Jyothi uses his connections to get Karthik released. Karthik, Balaji, and Jyothi go to confront Ammaji. They find that Ammaji's enemies have joined forces. A violent fight breaks out. Balaji and Karthik save Jyothi and kill everyone there. Jyothi kills Ammaji herself. They return to Jyothi's house and start drinking. Jyothi asks about the drugs. Karthik explains that Revathy found the drugs in his cupboard. She took them to Jyothi's house, where a man tried to rape her. She escaped and dissolved the drugs in the ocean.

Balaji then gives Jyothi a glass of poisoned beer. He does this because Jyothi abandoned them when they were young. Karthik joins his brother and they kill Jyothi for Vishnu's death. It is revealed that their mother died from poison too. The neighbors agree to keep the murder a secret. The film ends with the two brothers walking out of the room together. They have finally taken revenge, but they have lost everything else.

Revenge and justice
