'47 Natkal' is a 1981 Indian Tamil-language thriller film written and directed by K. Balachander. It stars Chiranjeevi, Jaya Prada, and Anne Patricia. The story follows Vishali, a naive village girl who marries Kumar and moves to France. She discovers Kumar is already married to Lucy, a French doctor. Kumar forces Vishali to act as his mentally ill sister. The film explores themes of bigamy, domestic abuse, and female independence. It was based on a novel by Sivasankari. The soundtrack was composed by M. S. Viswanathan. The Tamil version was released on 17 July 1981.

Storyline
