Jesus (1980) is a Tamil-language docudrama that adapts the Gospel of Luke. The film is part of the global Jesus Film Project, which began with the 1979 English version directed by John Krish and Peter Sykes. Brian Deacon portrays Jesus, with Rivka Neuman as Mary and Alexander Scourby as the narrator. The story follows Jesus from his miraculous birth in Bethlehem to his crucifixion in Jerusalem and his resurrection three days later. It depicts his teachings, parables, and miracles, including healing the sick and raising the dead. The film was shot on location in Israel at authentic biblical sites. It has been translated into over 1,800 languages and is one of the most widely viewed films in history. The Tamil version was released in 1980 and remains popular among Tamil-speaking Christian communities worldwide.

Storyline
Jesus of Nazareth begins his public ministry after being baptized by John. He calls twelve disciples and travels through Galilee, healing the sick and teaching about God's kingdom. Religious leaders oppose him and plot his death. One of his own disciples betrays him, leading to his arrest, trial, and crucifixion. But three days later, his tomb is found empty.
