Samandhipoo(1980)
Samandhipoo is a 1980 Indian Tamil-language romantic tragedy film written and directed by K. S. Mathangan. The film stars Sivakumar and Shoba in lead roles. The story follows a village girl who falls in love with a city man, but family opposition and betrayal lead to a devastating conclusion. The film is notable for using real footage of actress Shoba's funeral in its climax after she died by suicide during production. Editor A. Mohan helped complete the film by using a lookalike for long shots. The soundtrack, composed by Malaysia Vasudevan in his debut, was praised by critics. The film released on 11 July 1980, two months after Shoba's death.

Storyline
