Savitri(1980)
Savithiri is a 1980 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Bharathan. The cast includes Vinoth, Menaka, J. V. Ramana Murthi, Manorama, Nanditha Bose, and Master Suresh. The story follows a young Brahmin girl who is married to an old priest by her impoverished father. She begins a secret affair with a younger man out of loneliness and sexual frustration. The film is a remake of Bharathan's own 1975 Malayalam film Prayanam. It sparked controversy upon release for its portrayal of Brahmin characters, leading to protests in Madras. The screenplay was written by Padmarajan. The music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan. The film was released on 5 December 1980.

Storyline
