Othigai Full Story Explained (2011)

Othigai is a Tamil action drama set in a small village where a cruel landlord rules with an iron fist. The landlord controls all the land and water in the area. He charges high rents and beats anyone who cannot pay. The poor villagers live in constant fear. They have no one to protect them. The local police are in the landlord's pocket. This is the world Kathir returns to after finishing his studies in the city.

Kathir is played by Jai Akash. He is a young man with a kind heart and a strong sense of justice. He sees his family and friends suffering under the landlord's rule. He decides he cannot stay silent. Kathir starts talking to the villagers. He tells them they have the power to fight back. He organizes small protests and meetings. The villagers slowly gain courage.
