Aval Peyar Thamizharasi is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Meera Kathiravan. The film stars Jai as Jyothi and Manochitra (credited as Nandhagi) as the title character Thamizharasi. The story follows a young girl from a puppeteer family who is raped by a wealthy boy, and his later attempt to seek forgiveness. Set in rural Tamil Nadu, the film explores themes of guilt, trauma, and the difficulty of healing. It features a soundtrack composed by Vijay Antony and cinematography by P. G. Muthiah. The film premiered at the 6th Dubai International Film Festival in December 2009 and had a theatrical release on 5 March 2010. Despite positive critical reception, it failed at the box office.

Storyline
Thamizharasi is a bright student from a family of traditional puppeteers. She dreams of becoming an engineer. Her life is destroyed when Jyothi, the grandson of a wealthy supporter, rapes her. Years later, Jyothi returns seeking forgiveness. Thamizharasi must decide if she can ever forgive him.
