
Lava Kusa(1963)
Lava Kusa is a 1963 Indian Hindu mythological film directed by C. Pullayya and C. S. Rao. The Tamil version stars N. T. Rama Rao as Rama, Anjali Devi as Sita, and Gemini Ganesan as Lakshmana. Based on the Uttara Kanda of the Ramayana, the story follows the twin sons of Rama and Sita, who grow up in exile unaware of their royal lineage. The film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, with minor cast differences. It was the first full-length color film in Telugu cinema. The soundtrack features 27 songs composed by Ghantasala. Lava Kusa won the National Film Award for Best Telugu Feature Film and ran for 75 weeks in theaters. The Tamil version released on April 19, 1963.

Storyline
Rama is forced to exile his pregnant wife Sita after a public accusation. In the forest, Sita gives birth to twin sons, Lava and Kusa. Years later, the boys unknowingly capture Rama’s sacrificial horse, leading to a fierce battle between father and sons. The truth of their identity threatens to shatter the kingdom.
