Trivia
- The film is a Hindi remake of director Tapan Sinha's own Bengali film 'Aaj Ka Robin Hood' from the same year.
- It was shot in both Hindi and Bengali versions simultaneously, with different lead actors for each language.
- The movie blends a historical setting with comedy, a rare mix for films about India's independence struggle.
- Actor Mithun Chakraborty, who played the revolutionary Jatin, was a major star known for dance roles at the time.
- The film's title references Robin Hood to connect a Western folk hero to Indian anti-colonial resistance.
- It performed modestly at the box office compared to Mithun's typical action or disco-themed hits of the era.
- Director Tapan Sinha was better known for serious social dramas, making this a departure into lighter storytelling.
