Anjaam Full Story Explained (1994)

Shivani Chopra is a young air hostess living with her sister Padmisha and her drunk brother-in-law Mohanlal. She meets Vijay Agnihotri, a wealthy industrialist who becomes obsessed with her. He asks her to model for his company. She refuses. He asks her to marry him. She refuses again. Vijay cannot accept rejection. He tells his mother he will only marry Shivani. But Shivani falls in love with Ashok Chopra, a pilot. They get married and move to America. Four years later, Shivani and Ashok return to India with their daughter Pinky. Vijay has not forgotten Shivani. He befriends Ashok and gives him a high-paying job as a general manager. He also gives them a new house. Shivani sees the danger and tries to warn Ashok. But Ashok trusts Vijay. One day, Shivani discovers Vijay used her photos for airline ads. She is furious. She tells Ashok to quit the job and leave the house. Ashok feels insulted. He slaps Shivani and throws her out. Shivani leaves, heartbroken. Vijay sees this and beats Ashok badly. In the hospital, Vijay removes Ashok's oxygen mask. Ashok dies. Shivani tells the police Vijay killed Ashok. But Vijay bribes Inspector Arjun Singh. The police do nothing. Vijay keeps begging Shivani to love him. She refuses. He beats her and frames her for trying to kill him. Shivani goes to prison for three years. Her daughter Pinky is sent to Padmisha and Mohanlal. Mohanlal mistreats them. In prison, Shivani meets Nisha, a friend. The warden forces inmates into prostitution. Shivani complains. The warden beats her and throws her in isolation. She loses her unborn baby. Then Vijay runs over Padmisha and Pinky with his car. They die. Shivani learns the truth. She decides to kill everyone who wronged her. She plans her first kill. She stages an alibi during a worship event. She sneaks away and hangs the prison warden. No one suspects her. Three years later, she is released. She kills Mohanlal by choking him with money and biting his arm. Inspector Arjun suspects her. He tries to rape her in a barn. She overpowers him and sets the barn on fire. He dies. Shivani goes to Vijay's home. He has moved. She starts working at a hospital for disabled people. She learns Vijay is paralyzed from the car accident that killed her sister and daughter. He lives in a sanatorium built by his mother. Shivani volunteers to take care of him. She nurses him back to health. Vijay gets better. He asks Shivani to marry him. She hugs him and stabs him. She says she healed him only to kill him. It is a sin to kill a helpless person. They struggle and fall off a cliff. Vijay holds her foot. He says he will take her with him. Shivani lets go. They both fall to their deaths.
