The Living Corpse(1986)
Zinda Laash (also known as The Living Corpse) is a 1986 Hindi-language social drama film directed by Manmohan Sabir. The film stars Aakash, Sarika Thakur, and Mac Mohan in lead roles. The story follows Raja, an orphan raised by a kind man, who becomes the protector of a poor Mumbai slum. When a flood destroys her village, a young woman named Laxmi comes to the slum and faces constant exploitation. Raja helps her and fights against the local goons who terrorize the community. Despite being marketed as a horror film with images of ghouls on its cover, Zinda Laash contains no supernatural elements. It is a slow-paced drama about poverty, sexual harassment, and collective resistance. The film was released on January 1, 1986, in India.

Storyline
Raja was found abandoned in a garbage dump as a baby. Now a young man, he protects the poor people in his Mumbai slum. When a flood destroys Laxmi's village, she comes to the slum with her siblings. She faces harassment from every employer. Raja stands up for her and against the cruel pimp Mac Mohan. Together, they fight for dignity and justice.
