Trivia
- The film's title 'Aamne Samne' translates to 'face to face', referencing the dual roles played by Jeetendra.
- Jeetendra performed a rare double role here, playing both the city slicker Johny and the naive villager Gopi.
- This was one of the few films where actress Sridevi played a supporting role opposite Jeetendra, before their iconic pairings in later hits.
- Director Ashim Samanta was the son of legendary filmmaker Shakti Samanta, known for films like 'Howrah Bridge' and 'Amar Prem'.
- The film's music was composed by Bappi Lahiri, who was at the peak of his disco-pop fame in the early 1980s.
- Despite its star cast, the film did not achieve major commercial success compared to other Jeetendra-Sridevi collaborations of the era.
- The plot of a criminal using a look-alike to create an alibi was a popular trope in Hindi cinema, seen earlier in films like 'The Great Gambler' (1979).
