A Driver With a Secret

Singamuthu works as a temporary driver in Rishikesh. He lives a simple life, far from his past. Nobody knows he was once a powerful IAS officer. His only friend is Annamalai, the funny owner of a transport company.

Full Plot

The film opens in Rishikesh, where Singamuthu works as a temporary driver for Annamalai Transports. Annamalai is a funny, innocent man who keeps trying to get married, but Singamuthu always finds a way to stop the wedding. Nobody knows why Singamuthu does this. One day, Anjali arrives in Rishikesh. She is the beautiful daughter of the man who owns the building where Annamalai runs his business. She comes to collect the yearly rent. Anjali is a huge fan of the legendary actor MGR, and she dreams of marrying a man as heroic as him. She meets Singamuthu and is drawn to his mysterious nature. They fall in love. But Singamuthu has a dark past he must share with her.

Singamuthu reveals that his real name is Vetrivel. He was a highly accomplished district collector in Tanjore. He was honest, brave, and respected by everyone. He had a loving sister and a close friend named Prem, who was a police officer. Prem's sister was engaged to be married. But a local gangster named Naachiyaar and his son were causing trouble in the area. Naachiyaar's son kidnapped Prem's sister and tried to rape her. Vetrivel arrived in time and saved her. In the fight, Vetrivel severely injured Naachiyaar's son, destroying his ability to have children. The son later died in the hospital. The girl's wedding happened happily.

Naachiyaar was furious and wanted revenge. He brutally murdered Prem, Vetrivel's best friend. Vetrivel was devastated and wanted to punish Naachiyaar. But before he could act, a bigger crisis happened. The governor of the state was coming to Tanjore for a public meeting. The CBCID police learned that an assassination attempt would be made on the governor's life. Because Vetrivel had trained for the IPS and was an excellent shooter, he was asked to protect the governor. During the meeting, the governor was killed. Vetrivel was framed for the murder by the DGP himself, who was working with Naachiyaar. Vetrivel had no choice but to run away and hide.

He changed his name to Singamuthu and started a new life as a driver in Rishikesh. He lived in hiding for years, feeling broken and hopeless. But after falling in love with Anjali, he found the courage to fight back. He told her everything, and she promised to stand by him. Vetrivel returned to Tanjore with a plan. He gathered evidence against the DGP and Naachiyaar. He exposed their conspiracy and proved his innocence. The real killers were caught and punished. Vetrivel was reinstated as the district collector. In the end, he also stopped Annamalai's wedding one last time — this time to marry Anjali himself. He got his life, his love, and his honor back.
