Arjun Reddy is a 2017 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga in his directorial debut. The film stars Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey, with Rahul Ramakrishna, Jia Sharma, Sanjay Swaroop, Gopinath Bhat, Kamal Kamaraju, and Kanchana in supporting roles. The story follows Arjun Reddy Deshmukh, a wealthy high-functioning alcoholic surgeon with anger management problems, who embarks on a self-destructive path after his girlfriend Preethi Shetty is forced into an arranged marriage. The film focuses on his downfall and subsequent resurgence. Made on a budget of ₹5–5.15 crore, the film was released worldwide on 25 August 2017. It received widespread critical acclaim but drew criticism for its themes of self-destruction and substance abuse. The film was a box office success, grossing ₹51 crore globally. Vijay Deverakonda won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu for his performance. The film was remade in Hindi as Kabir Singh (2019) and twice in Tamil as Adithya Varma (2019) and Varmaa (2020).

Storyline
Arjun Reddy is a brilliant but short-tempered medical student who falls deeply in love with Preethi. When her father forces her to marry another man due to caste differences, Arjun spirals into alcoholism and drug addiction. He must find a way to overcome his self-destruction and win back the woman he loves.
