Trivia
- The film's title 'Junga' is a playful nod to the popular Tamil slang for a stylish, flamboyant person, fitting the protagonist's transformation.
- Director Gokul originally planned a different project but switched to this script to re-team with Vijay Sethupathi after their successful 'Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara'.
- The iconic 'movie hall' set was a major construction, built from scratch to resemble a classic single-screen Tamil theatre of the 1980s.
- Composer Sam C.S. used a distinctive, retro-inspired synth score to enhance the film's quirky, period comedy feel.
- A minor box office performer, its cult popularity grew later through television and digital streaming repeats.
- The character's signature miserly trait was heavily improvised by Vijay Sethupathi, adding many unscripted comedic moments.
- The climax was shot in a real, now-defunct single-screen theatre in Chennai to capture authentic nostalgia.
