Trivia

  • The film's production was delayed for years after a tragic accident on set in 2020 that killed three crew members.
  • Director Shankar originally planned this as a direct sequel to the 1996 film 'Indian', but the story evolved significantly over the long development.
  • Actress S. J. Suryah, who plays a key antagonist, reportedly performed many of his own stunts despite being new to major action roles.
  • The movie features a cameo by a popular Tamil television host playing themselves, a rare crossover for a Shankar film.
  • Parts of the film were shot in real government buildings in Chennai with special permission, to add authenticity to the corruption storyline.
  • The climax sequence required over 200 junior artists and was filmed using a special crane that could lift the camera over 50 feet high.
  • This is one of the few Tamil films where the lead actor, Kamal Haasan, also contributed to the screenplay and dialogue for his character.
