Trivia

  • The film's director, Thambi Ramaiah, is better known as a supporting actor in Tamil cinema and this was his only directorial venture.
  • Vadivelu's character name, Azhagappan, is a playful nod to the common Tamil name and his comedic 'everyman' persona.
  • The movie heavily references and parodies the popular 1993 Hollywood film 'Heaven Can Wait', adapting its core premise to a Tamil rural setting.
  • Despite Vadivelu's star power, the film had a very limited theatrical run and is seldom discussed among his major comedy hits.
  • Actress Suja, who played the celestial nymph Ramba, was primarily known for roles in Malayalam films at the time.
  • The plot device of a mortal being shuttled to heaven at night is a unique comic twist on classic tales of divine visitation.
  • The film's soundtrack was composed by Srikanth Deva, continuing his frequent collaborations with Vadivelu during that era.
