God Walks Into a Hostel

Raasu and Mokkai are drunk and angry. They shout at God for ruining their lives. Suddenly, a man appears in their room. They think he is just another unemployed guy. But he is actually God, and He is ready to teach them a lesson.

Full Plot

Raasu and Mokkai are two young men living in a crowded Chennai hostel. Raasu works at a coffee shop and is desperately in love with Mahishasuramardhini. He lies to her, claiming he has a high-paying job. Mokkai is unemployed and dreams of marrying his cousin back in his village. They share their room with a professor named Mani, an atheist named Thanjai Rudran, a poet, and other struggling men. Life is hard, and money is always tight.

One terrible day, everything falls apart. Mokkai gets arrested and beaten by female police officers. Raasu's lies about his job are exposed, and Mahishasuramardhini is disgusted. The hostel owner kicks them out for not paying rent. That night, drunk and furious, they shout at God for ruining their lives. To their shock, God appears in their room. They mistake Him for another unemployed man and fall asleep. The next morning, God reveals Himself by appearing as Vishnu, Jesus, and Buddha. He calls Himself Arnold.

Arnold makes a bet with Raasu and Mokkai. He will live with them for one week, using the name Arnold and pretending to be their uncle. He carries a galaxy box that controls a supercomputer running the universe. He wants to see if their suffering is His fault or their own. He convinces the hostel owner to let them stay longer. During the week, Arnold teaches them about responsibility, hard work, and gratitude. But Raasu and Mokkai are not ready to change.

On the last night, Raasu and Mokkai steal the galaxy box. They use it to get rich, buy fancy clothes, and take revenge on their past employers and enemies. But their joy is short-lived. Raasu's family becomes greedy and suspicious. Mokkai's relatives are ungrateful. Worst of all, Raasu discovers that Mahishasuramardhini is a prostitute. Heartbroken, he throws the galaxy box into a bin. Another hostel mate, Wellesley Prabhu, finds the box and returns it to Arnold.

Arnold forgives Raasu and Mokkai. They feel deep regret and promise to change their lives. They start working hard honestly. Over the years, both become successful. The film ends years later, with Arnold visiting another group of struggling youngsters in a different mansion. This time, He keeps His galaxy box chained in His pocket, making sure it cannot be stolen again.
