Full Plot

Five IT employees named Sandy, Joe, Gokul, Vaishnavi, and Nikita go on a weekend trip to Chandragiri forest. They meet a siddhar who has magical powers to grant wishes. Sandy does not believe the siddhar is real and asks for a copy of Daily Thanthi newspaper dated after Ayudha Puja, a day when no newspapers are printed. The siddhar magically creates the newspaper. The friends read that their company Satyam Computers will shut down the next day. When this actually happens, they believe everything in the newspaper is true.

Vaishnavi finds another article that says a man named Peter will win a boxing tournament on Ayudha Puja day and give the two crore rupee prize money to these five friends. The IT gang decides to find this Peter and sponsor him so they can get the money. They track down Thomas Peter, but he is not a boxer at all. He is a lazy young man who spends his days roaming around with his best friend Neruppu Kumar. Peter is in love with a girl named Yazhini Sethuraman, who is a sports fan. To impress her, Peter agrees to participate in the tournament.

Peter shows no interest in training and uses the IT gang to fulfill his personal wishes instead. The IT gang later discovers there is another boxer named Peter, a fifteen-time champion called 'Peter the Killer'. They realize they might have sponsored the wrong Peter. They approach Killer Peter to sponsor him, but he refuses. They have no choice but to continue with their lazy Peter.

The boxing tournament begins, and Peter somehow wins all his preliminary matches by pure luck. The media calls his fighting style 'Maan Karate', which means Deer Karate, because he just runs and dodges like a deer. Peter becomes famous as 'Maan Karate Peter'. He reaches the final match where he must face Killer Peter.

Peter is terrified of getting killed in the ring and fears Yazhini will reject him if she learns he is not a real boxer. He tries to avoid the final fight but fails. The IT gang betrays him completely by accepting seventy-five lakh rupees to support Killer Peter instead. Peter finally decides to train hard for the first time. The final happens on Ayudha Puja day. Killer Peter dominates the fight and hurts Peter badly. Yazhini discovers Peter is not a real boxer and begs him to stop. But Peter refuses to give up and keeps fighting. He somehow knocks out Killer Peter and wins the tournament. He dedicates the prize money to the IT gang, but they refuse. Peter publicly tells Yazhini he loves her. The film ends by showing the torn newspaper from the forest, with a photo of Maan Karate Peter lifting the trophy.

Peter wins his early matches by pure luck without any training. The media calls his style 'Maan Karate' because he just runs away. But when he faces the real champion, luck is not enough. Peter has to train hard and fight with real courage to win. The film shows that luck can take you only so far, but real success needs effort.

Love as Motivation

Peter does not care about boxing or money. He only joins the tournament to impress Yazhini. His love for her is what makes him say yes to the crazy idea. Even when he wants to quit, thinking about her keeps him going. In the end, he wins both the trophy and her heart by being honest.

Betrayal and Loyalty

Being Yourself

Peter pretends to be a boxer when he is not. He hides the truth from Yazhini and the public. But in the final match, he has to face reality. Yazhini discovers the truth and still supports him. Peter wins by being honest about his feelings. The film says it is better to be yourself than to pretend.

How does it end?

Ending Explained

The final match takes place on Ayudha Puja day, just as the magical newspaper predicted. Killer Peter dominates the fight from the start and hurts Peter badly with powerful punches. Yazhini, who has discovered that Peter is not a real boxer, runs to the ring crying and begs him to stop fighting. She tells him she does not care about the tournament, she just wants him safe. But Peter refuses to give up. He gets up and keeps fighting despite the pain. In an unexpected moment, Peter manages to knock out the champion Killer Peter and wins the tournament. The crowd goes wild. Peter dedicates the two crore rupee prize money to the IT gang, but they feel guilty and refuse to take it. Peter then publicly declares his love for Yazhini in front of everyone, and she accepts him. The film ends by showing the torn piece of newspaper that Nikita had left in the Chandragiri forest months ago. That torn piece has a photo of Maan Karate Peter lifting the trophy, proving that the siddhar's prediction was always true.
