Poo(2008)
Poo (2008) is a Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Sasi. It stars Srikanth as Thangarasu and Parvathy Thiruvothu in her Tamil debut as Maari. The story follows a village girl who secretly loves her cousin and sacrifices her own happiness for his. Set in the fictional village of Imbutakam between Rajapalayam and Sivakasi, the film explores unrequited love and parental expectations. The film received positive reviews for its realistic storytelling and strong performances. It won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Film Portraying Woman in Good Light and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for Parvathy. The music was composed by debutant S. S. Kumaran. The film was released on 28 November 2008.

Storyline
Maari has loved her cousin Thangarasu since childhood. She works in a fireworks factory while he studies engineering. Everyone knows her secret except Thangarasu. When he finally learns about her love, he chooses his father's dream of wealth over her. Maari marries another man, but her heart remains with Thangarasu. A visit to his house reveals a painful truth that shatters her world.
