Trivia
- The film's director, S. Mani Bharathy, is also a practicing lawyer, which influenced the film's focus on legal and investigative procedures.
- The unusual murder method involving expired batteries was inspired by real-life reports of toxic battery components causing harm.
- Actor Prasanna, who plays the rookie cop, underwent physical training to perform many of his own action sequences.
- The movie's title 'Battery' serves as a dual metaphor, referring both to the murder weapon and the 'battery' of tests in an investigation.
- Much of the film was shot in and around Chennai, using real police station locations to add authenticity.
- The film's climax and the killer's motive are tied to themes of medical malpractice and corporate negligence, a social issue in Tamil cinema.
- Despite being a crime thriller, the script originally included more dark comedy elements that were later reduced during editing.
