Trivia

  • The film is an official Hindi remake of the 2018 Spanish film 'Mirage', but director Anurag Kashyap relocated the story to India and changed key plot details.
  • Lead actress Taapsee Pannu had previously worked with Anurag Kashyap on the 2018 film 'Manmarziyaan', and she actively pushed for this project to be made.
  • The film's title 'Dobaaraa' is stylized with an extra 'a' at the end, which was a deliberate creative choice for the remake.
  • Much of the film was shot in real locations during the monsoon season to authentically capture the stormy, atmospheric weather central to the plot.
  • The movie features a cameo by director Anurag Kashyap himself, who appears in a brief scene as a doctor.
  • Despite strong critical reviews, the film had a very limited theatrical release and performed modestly at the box office.
  • The production faced significant delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which pushed back its original shooting and release schedule.
