→Trivia
- The film's director Karthik Kumar is the son of veteran Tamil actor Sivakumar and brother of actors Suriya and Karthi.
- It was one of the earliest Tamil films to prominently feature the song 'Kadhal Vandhale', which later gained cult status online for its unique picturisation.
- The movie marked a rare lead role for actor Livingston, who is better known for his character and comedy roles.
- Actress Anuradha, who played the female lead Nandhini, took a long hiatus from films after this movie before returning to acting.
- The film's plot dealing with dowry demands was considered a direct social commentary, which was less common in commercial films of that era.
- Despite the presence of popular music director Deva, the film did not achieve significant box office success upon release.
