Kasi is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Vinayan. The film stars Vikram as the blind village singer Kasi, with Kaveri and Kavya Madhavan in supporting roles. It is a remake of Vinayan's own Malayalam film Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum. The story follows Kasi, a blind poet who supports his family through his songs. His life changes when a landlord promises to fund an eye operation. The film explores themes of trust, sacrifice, and revenge. Vikram's performance earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Tamil. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The film was released on 14 December 2001.

Storyline
