
Kottai Mariamman(2001)
Kottai Mariamman is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language Hindu devotional film directed by Rama Narayanan. The film stars Roja in the dual role of the goddess Kottai Mariamman and the human girl Durga, alongside Karan and Devayani. The story follows the goddess who raises an abandoned child while defending her temple and her golden eye petals from the sorcerer Mantramoorthi. The film features a parallel narrative of an atheist named Eashwar whose faith is tested through his devout wife Rajeswari. The soundtrack was composed by Deva with lyrics by Kalidasan and Snehan. The film received positive reviews from critics and was dubbed into Telugu, Hindi, Odia, and Bhojpuri. It was released on 14 December 2001.

Storyline
