Tamil minstheatrical

Simmasanam (2000) is a Tamil-language action drama film directed by Eswaran in his directorial debut. The film stars Vijayakanth in a triple role as Sathyamurthy and his two sons, Sakthivel and Thangarasu. The supporting cast includes Khushbu Sundar, Manthra, Radhika Chaudhari, Ambika, Viji, and Rajan P. Dev. The story is set in a remote Tamil village where a kind village chief is poisoned by his wife and her brothers, and a poor woman is falsely blamed for the murder. Years later, his two half-brothers must uncover the truth and bring the real killer to justice. The film explores themes of family betrayal, forgiveness, and class conflict. S. A. Rajkumar composed the soundtrack with lyrics by Vaali. The film received mixed reviews, with praise for its screenplay and political dialogues but criticism for its convoluted storyline.
