Manikkam is a 1996 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by Surya Prakash in his directorial debut. The film stars Rajkiran and Vanitha Vijayakumar, with Vinu Chakravarthy and Gandhimathi in supporting roles. The story follows Manikkam, a village protector who receives divine messages from the Neethi Amman temple and fights against the ruthless bandit Karuvayan and his gang. The film explores the Tamil religious tradition of brave warriors becoming worshipped as guardian gods after death. Karthik Raja composed the soundtrack, with the song 'Sandhanam Thechachu' gaining popularity. The film was released on 7 September 1996.

Storyline
Manikkam is a village protector who follows divine messages from the Neethi Amman temple. He must protect his people from the cruel bandit Karuvayan and his gang. At the same time, he struggles to marry off his eight sisters and manage his disgraced father. When a modern girl named Savithri falls in love with him, his duties are tested. His biggest challenge comes when he must reopen a locked temple, knowing it will lead to a deadly confrontation.
