
Deva(1995)
Deva is a 1995 Indian Tamil-language romantic action film directed by S. A. Chandrasekharan and produced by B. Vimal. The film stars Vijay as Deva and debutante Swathi as Bharathi, with Sivakumar, Manorama, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Manivannan in supporting roles. The story follows a couple deeply in love who face opposition from the woman's father, the village head, who disapproves of the man due to his perceived reputation. The film's music was composed by Deva, and cinematography was handled by R. Selva. Deva was released on 17 February 1995 and completed a successful 100-day theatrical run in Tamil Nadu. Manivannan won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Comedian for his performance.

Storyline
Deva loves Bharathi, but her father Gandhidasan, the village head, hates him. Gandhidasan believes Deva is a worthless troublemaker. He blocks their marriage at every step. Deva must prove his true character to win the love of his life and the respect of the village.
