Deiva Vaakku is a 1992 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by M.S. Madhu and produced by T. Siva. The film stars Karthik and Revathi in lead roles, with Srividya and Vijayakumar in supporting parts. The story follows Amsaveni, a village girl who is believed to channel the voice of a goddess after she miraculously finds water during a drought. Her brother exploits her divine reputation for personal gain. The film is a remake of the Telugu film Sankeertana (1987). Storyline
Amsaveni is a simple village girl who suddenly starts speaking with the voice of a goddess. Her words come true, and the villagers worship her. But her greedy brother Vallathar uses her gift to collect money. Amsaveni falls in love with Karthik, a jobless drunk. Vallathar opposes their marriage. Amsaveni must choose between her family’s greed and her own happiness.
