Oru Pudhiya Kathai (transl. A New Story) is a 1990 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by R. Balasubbiah. The film stars newcomer Prabhuraj and Meena in her debut lead role. The story follows a wealthy young man who falls in love with a poor village girl, facing opposition from both families. The film explores class conflict, family pressure, and the power of sacrifice for love. Uma Kannadasan composed the soundtrack and wrote the lyrics. The film was a commercial failure but is noted for launching Meena as a lead actress in Tamil cinema. Editor M. Rajaram of Dinamalar produced the film under Kumar Movies. It was released on 10 August 1990.

Storyline
