Pasupathy loses his house

Pasupathy is a carefree young man with no job and no worries. He lives with his younger sister Kavitha and their maid Senthamarai. One day, he discovers that his father's old debt has cost them their home. The bank takes away the house, and Pasupathy has nowhere to go.

Full Plot

Pasupathy is a happy-go-lucky young man who has no job and no responsibilities. He lives with his sister Kavitha and their maid Senthamarai, who secretly sells black market liquor. Kavitha is in love with Pasupathy's best friend Mano, but Pasupathy does not notice. Everything changes when the bank takes away their house because of a debt from their father. Pasupathy's uncle, a lawyer, finds him a job at a mineral water company owned by Sivagurunathan.

Sivagurunathan is a strict, religious man who hates recommendations and loves Lord Murugan. Pasupathy pretends to be a simple, honest devotee who follows Sivagurunathan's own book of principles. This trick works, and Pasupathy gets the job. But soon, Pasupathy lies to his boss to go watch a cricket match. Sivagurunathan sees him partying at the same event and films everything. The next day, Sivagurunathan fires Pasupathy for lying.

To save his job, Pasupathy panics and invents a twin brother named Ganguly Kandhan. He says Ganguly is a karate master with blue eyes who looks exactly like him. Sivagurunathan half-believes him and gives him another chance. Then Sivagurunathan's daughter Janani decides she wants to learn karate. Sivagurunathan tells Pasupathy to send his twin brother to teach her. Pasupathy buys blue contact lenses and starts playing both roles.

Janani had already met Pasupathy when he saved her from a fire. She is attracted to him, but she thinks she is falling for Ganguly. Pasupathy also falls in love with Janani. Meanwhile, Sivagurunathan meets a bank officer who knows Pasupathy is a fraud. The officer says there is no twin brother. Sivagurunathan hires a CID detective to follow Pasupathy. Pasupathy tricks the detective into believing there really are two brothers.

Things get more complicated when Mano blackmails Pasupathy. Mano wants to marry Kavitha, and he threatens to reveal the twin brother lie if Pasupathy does not agree. Pasupathy has no choice and arranges their wedding. Then Janani decides she wants to marry Ganguly, not Pasupathy. She runs away from home when her father plans her wedding to Pasupathy. When she discovers the truth, she is furious and beats him. But Pasupathy convinces her that he did everything for love.

In the climax, Sivagurunathan chases Pasupathy through a temple. Pasupathy meets another man being forced into marriage, and they swap identities to confuse everyone. After many funny chases, Sivagurunathan finally realizes that Pasupathy truly loves Janani. He changes his mind and allows them to get married. The film ends with Pasupathy and Janani together, and all the lies finally forgiven.
