Trivia

  • The film's title 'Murugesan +2' is a play on the Tamil education system, where '+2' refers to higher secondary school, humorously suggesting Murugesan's two families as an advanced, complicated lesson.
  • Director M. Ramesh Bharathi is known for blending social satire with comedy, and this film marks his return to directing after a few years focusing on writing.
  • The movie was primarily shot in real locations around Madurai and Tirunelveli to capture the authentic backdrop of a truck driver's life.
  • Actor M. Sasikumar, who plays Murugesan, reportedly spent time with actual truck drivers to understand their mannerisms and lifestyle for the role.
  • The script was initially developed as a serious drama but was later reworked into a dark comedy to highlight the absurdity of the situation.
  • A key scene involving the accident used practical effects and minimal CGI to make the stunt look more realistic and impactful.
  • The film's climax, where the sons walk away, was inspired by classic Tamil cinema themes of disillusionment with greedy family structures.
