→Trivia
- The film's title 'Kutty Vaathiyar' is a playful nod to the traditional Tamil term for a village teacher, often used with affection.
- Director S. R. Prabhakaran reportedly drew inspiration from real-life stories of small-town teachers shared by his own family members.
- The young lead actor, Master Ashwin, had to undergo two weeks of special workshops to perfect his mischievous yet endearing classroom antics.
- A key comedy sequence involving a stolen chalk box was improvised on set based on the child actor's spontaneous reaction.
- The movie's climax was shot in a single, continuous 10-minute take to maintain the emotional flow between the teacher and student.
- Despite being a comedy, the script originally had a more dramatic ending, which was later changed after test screenings.
- The film's soundtrack uses a rare traditional instrument called the 'thavil' in a humorous context, contrasting with its usual serious temple associations.
