→Trivia
- The film's title 'Small Clouds' is a direct translation of the Hindi phrase 'Chhote Baadal', which is also the original working title.
- Director Shubham Sumit wrote the first draft of the script during a two-week stay in a remote coastal village in Maharashtra.
- The main ship set was built on a dry dock in Gujarat and was a real, decommissioned fishing vessel modified for filming.
- The child actors playing the siblings had never seen the ocean before their first day of shooting the adventure sequences.
- A key scene uses a 1970s Hindi film song as a nostalgic motif, but the rights were so costly the director almost cut it.
- The film was shot chronologically to help the young actors naturally portray their characters growing apart over time.
- It premiered at the International Film Festival of India in Goa before its theatrical release, winning the Best Debut Feature award.
