Trivia
- The film's title 'Bhootnii' is a playful feminine twist on the common Hindi word 'Bhoot' for ghost, hinting at the spirit's gender.
- Director Sidhaant Sachdev is a former assistant to director Vishal Bhardwaj, known for blending genres in his own work.
- The 'Virgin Tree' concept is inspired by real-life 'wishing trees' found on some Indian and international college campuses.
- Principal photography took place largely at a real, historic college campus in North India to capture authentic Gothic architecture.
- The veteran para-physicist character's look was modeled after classic 1970s Hindi horror film protagonists.
- The film mixes practical effects for the tree with CGI for the spectral appearances of the Bhootnii.
- Its release date was strategically set near Valentine's Day 2025 to match the film's holiday plot.
