Trivia

  • The film's setting in Bheemili was chosen for its authentic 2000s-era cable TV culture, which is central to the plot.
  • Director Praveen Kandregula drew inspiration from real-life regional folklore about media-induced mass hysteria.
  • The horror-comedy tone was a deliberate shift from the director's previous work in more serious social dramas.
  • The 'possessed' makeup and effects for the wives were designed to be subtly unsettling, not overly grotesque.
  • A key challenge was sourcing period-accurate props, like specific TV models and furniture, from the early 2000s.
  • The film uses a distinct color palette to visually separate the 'normal' world from the scenes of possession.
  • The coastal town's local dialect and slang were incorporated to add authenticity to the characters' dialogues.
