Full Plot

The story begins eight months after the events of the first Singam film. Durai Singam has left the police force and is working undercover as an NCC master at a school in Thoothukudi. Only the Chief Minister Kumaravel and Home Minister Ramanathan know about his secret mission. Singam is studying the illegal activities happening in the coastal city. His father Soundarapandi is angry that he quit the police and forbids his marriage to Kavya, fearing her wealthy father will take him away. Kavya is a billionaire's daughter but she loves Singam deeply and waits for him.

Singam meets a local peon named Susai who shows him the dangerous parts of Thoothukudi. He learns about a crime boss named Thangaraj who runs financial and seaway scams. Thangaraj is in partnership with another gangster named Bhai, who controls the southeast coastline. Together they work with an international drug lord named Michael Kong, also called Danny. Singam keeps Bhai under surveillance but does not yet know about Danny.

A violent incident erupts when Bhai's chief henchman Saghayam kidnaps a girl from another caste after her brother insults him. Singam takes charge as the new DSP and saves the girl. The public praises him and his father forgives him. During this time, a 12th-grade student named Sathya falls in love with Singam. She is Thangaraj's niece. Singam gently tells her he loves Kavya, and Sathya steps back.

Singam discovers the partnership between Thangaraj and Bhai. He arrests Saghayam at the harbour and also captures Danny for insulting the police. Thangaraj tries to force Singam to release them but fails. Bhai sends an army of goons to bust Danny and Saghayam out of prison. Singam's efforts fail and he gets suspended for unruly behavior. He warns Bhai that he knows about Danny and will return.

Singam meets the Home Minister in Chennai and proposes a plan to arrest all of Danny's associates. He gets re-appointed and receives authorization to kill drug dealers on sight. He arrests Saghayam again when he tries to deliver drugs in Kerala. At Singam's engagement function, a former ally of his old enemy warns him that Thangaraj has hired goons to attack his family. Singam fights the goons himself and plants a drug bag inside Thangaraj's house, imprisoning him.

The next day, Singam learns that Sathya is dead. She was found with poison, but Singam realizes Thangaraj killed her because she knew the truth about his crimes and to protect Danny. Enraged, Singam gets permission to travel to South Africa. His wedding with Kavya is only three days away, but he leaves immediately.

In South Africa, Singam joins Major Kyle Ambrose and the Durban police. Danny has taken shelter with a local don named Alex. Singam and the police chase them through the city. Alex gets killed during the pursuit. After a long and brutal fight on a ship, Singam confronts Danny and arrests him. He drags Danny back to the same cell he escaped from and makes him realize the power of the Indian Police. Singam returns to India, reunites with Kavya, and gets promoted to DCP.
