→Trivia
- The film's title 'Firki' is a Hindi word for a child's toy windmill, symbolising the character's old-school, playful nature.
- Director Deepak Chawla has previously worked mostly on television shows, making this one of his rare feature film directorial ventures.
- The road trip scenes were primarily shot on location in rural Punjab, giving the film a authentic North Indian backdrop.
- The actor playing the father, whose name is not widely recognised, was reportedly cast for his ability to portray relatable middle-class frustration.
- The film had a very limited theatrical release and gained more attention after becoming available on a streaming platform.
- A subplot involves the family getting lost because the navigation app mispronounces local village names, a common real-life annoyance in India.
- The script was partly inspired by the director's own experiences with his father resisting new smartphone technology.
