Trivia
- Cocktail 2 arrives fourteen years after the original 2012 film, making it one of the longest gaps between a Bollywood romantic comedy and its sequel.
- Director Homi Adajania is known for giving his films a distinctly cosmopolitan, Western-influenced feel — his debut Being Cyrus (2005) was shot almost entirely in English, which was rare for mainstream Hindi cinema at the time.
- The original Cocktail (2012) was a breakthrough for producer Dinesh Vijan, who went on to build Maddock Films into one of the most consistent production houses in Bollywood over the next decade.
- The first Cocktail introduced Diana Penty to Hindi cinema in her debut role, and her performance earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut — a rare distinction for an actor playing what was essentially the 'second lead.'
- Adajania's films tend to use international locations as a character in themselves — Cocktail was set largely in London, and Finding Fanny (2014) used Goa's sleepy villages — a visual signature fans often look forward to in his work.
- The original Cocktail's soundtrack, composed by Pritam, became one of the most-streamed albums of 2012, with tracks like 'Tumhi Ho Bandhu' and 'Angrezi Beat' crossing over into mainstream club playlists across India.
- Romantic sequels in Bollywood rarely follow the same characters, and Cocktail 2 follows that tradition — introducing an entirely new set of people while carrying forward the emotional tone and urban sensibility of the first film.
