Storyline
Vicky is a talented but hot-headed scholar who decides to publicly accuse his respected mentor, Professor Gopal Nadkarni, of unfair institutional bias. What starts as a disagreement between the two of them quickly spirals out of control when a sensationalist news anchor and an ambitious political activist see an opportunity. They turn the private dispute into a televised "intellectual trial" broadcast to millions across the nation, forcing Vicky to face unexpected consequences for standing up for what he believes is right.

Trivia
- The title 'Aakhri Sawal' translates to 'The Final Question' in Hindi, a phrase that carries double meaning — it refers both to the accusation Vicky levels at his mentor and to the broader question of who gets to decide truth in a media-saturated democracy.
- The film arrives at a moment when real Indian campuses have seen highly publicised disputes over faculty conduct and institutional favouritism, giving the story an unusually topical edge for a mainstream Hindi thriller.
- The character of the sensationalist news anchor is a pointed nod to the 'prime time debate' format that has dominated Indian television news for over a decade, where outrage and ratings often override facts.
- By setting the central conflict between a student and a revered professor, the screenplay deliberately disturbs the sacred guru-shishya relationship — a bond so deeply embedded in Indian culture that questioning a teacher publicly is itself considered a transgression.
- The film uses the structure of a courtroom drama but relocates the 'trial' to a television studio, reflecting how public opinion in India is increasingly shaped by live broadcast spectacle rather than formal institutions.
- Director Abhijeet Mohan Warang frames the political activist character as neither hero nor villain, a choice that keeps the film's moral compass genuinely ambiguous and resists the tidy resolution audiences of mainstream Hindi cinema often expect.
- The name 'Gopal Nadkarni' for the mentor is notable — Nadkarni is a Konkani-origin surname common in Maharashtra's academic and intellectual circles, grounding the story in a specific regional milieu even as its themes play out on a national stage.
