Trivia

  • The film was shot entirely in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, giving it an authentic overseas college setting.
  • Director Shaswin Raj also wrote the story, screenplay, and dialogues, making it a personal project.
  • It was the first major film role for actor Varun, who played the lead character named after himself.
  • The movie's original title was 'Kalluri Rascals', but it was also promoted under the simpler name 'Rascals'.
  • The film's soundtrack was composed by a team of three music directors: Sathish Selvam, V. K. Karthik, and V. K. Vicky.
  • Despite being an action film set in a college, it avoided the typical 'campus rivalry' tropes seen in many Tamil movies.
  • The production faced challenges due to filming during the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions in Malaysia.
