→Trivia
- The film's title, 'Maragatha Malai', translates to 'Emerald Mountain', directly referencing the central treasure that drives the plot.
- Director S. Lathha is known for blending grand period aesthetics with spiritual themes, a style fully realized in this fantasy adventure.
- The movie was shot extensively in the dense forests of Kerala and the heritage sites of Tamil Nadu to create its 18th-century setting.
- Actor M. Sasikumar, who plays the zamindar Parthiban, underwent specific training in traditional weaponry for his action sequences.
- The character 'Kabala Vendan', the main antagonist, is named to evoke a fearsome, almost mythical outlaw figure from Tamil folklore.
- The film's score was composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, who incorporated period instruments like the 'nadaswaram' and 'thavil' for authenticity.
- Despite being a period fantasy, the core narrative focuses on the themes of familial separation and reunion, a classic emotional anchor in Tamil cinema.
